the after effects of college...
you know, i wonder how long it takes to kick that post-college feeling of obligation, as though after work and on the weekends you should be doing something productive, (e.g. writing a paper, reading for class, etc.) i'm going to go to starbucks and read for personal enrichment. ooh and jim carey became a U.S. citizen, but refused to say for whom he was going to vote, which i think in hollywood that means bush-but-i'm-not-going-to-get-red-listed-yo-so-i-won't-say.
we met sean hannity a couple of weeks ago. just for a moment, long enough to take a pic with him. also, andrew wk. we took a pic with him at this ramones tribute show, where lots of big names played, including joan jett, blondie, the strokes, sonic youth, andrew wk, and the singer of queens of the stone age, and also tommy and cj ramone, and bill stevenson from the descendents/all. i'm recording one of his songs, too, incidentally.
last night, we went to the mitch hedburg/stephen lynch show and saw one of the strokes there. mitch hedburg was awesome! but the audience was rather obnoxious... i wonder if that was similar to the audience in austin...? drunk people who have seen him perform in the past yelling out jokes and punchlines... they wanted to hear certain jokes, they weren't giving him cues, it was really obnoxious. but he was great, and he said the turtleneck/backpack one!
it's getting cold here already. i must purchase some warm socks, tights, and such.
you seen team america yet? it was funny, especially the songs. i read that sean penn got mad at them.

I haven't seen Team America but I really want to! I may do that this week sometime. I'm glad to hear that you enoyed it.
BTW, I am going back into trademark law and licensing. I attended some CLE in Entertainment Law and got an earful of the kinds of copyright problems that people face in the music industry. You can have it.
What kind of IP work do you see up in NYC?
Also, check out Almonetto's blog...

international trademarks up here. i'm a floater, still, though, unassigned to one specific person (or two). but since we're both in trademarks now, you can be my atty/boss again...! there are loads of museums here for your artistic wife, and cool comic book shops for you. and bring regina and travis, if you don't mind. hehehe...

I heard the same thing about Sean Penn's Team America upset. Haven't seen the movie yet, only trailers and clips...Saw the clip with the Korean ruler guy (It was the clincher for me). Don't think I can get Travis to go, may have to drag my sister.

New York is a great little town...but I wouldn't want to live there. Maybe if I telecommuted.
Are you involved in any litigation? Or is it mainly trademark prosecution?

Mitch Hedberg was far too drunk when he was in Austin to perform as well as we all hoped. (I think it helps when you don't know his jokes and don't know when he screws up.) It's frustrating to be an audience member, being sooooooo excited to hear a joke that he's told dozens of times before, but to have him too drunk to go off of his own cues.... What did you think of Lynch?
As for Team America, I loved it!! (I know what it's like to be 'so ronery'.) I heard that when Alec Baldwin heard that he was going to be portrayed in a Parker/Stone flick with puppets, he offered to do his own voice! Heh. They said they, uh, had it covered....
